Jessica "Jag" Aguilar (born May 8, 1982) is a professional mixed martial artist originally from Veracruz, Mexico.
Jessica began training martial arts in 2005. Few months later, Jessica accpeted her first pro MMA bout.
After posting a pro MMA record of 8-3, Jessica signed with Bellator Fighting Championship.
This is where her career flourished.
Jessica defeated world's top strawweights including Megumi Fujii, Carla Esparaza, and Lisa Ellis, earned her a #2 pound-for-pound ranking in 2013.
November of the same year, Jessica sigend with World Series of Fighting (WSOF). In January of 2014, Jessica faced Alida Gray, won the fight via submission in the first round to become the promotion's first female champion.
Jessica defended this title twice, and she granted of a release from WSOF to pursue her dream in the UFC.
Jessica's career in the Octagon was not exactly a successful one but she did beat Jodie Esququibel, and only lost to top rankers like Claudia Gadelha, Marina Rodriguez and Zhang Weili. And, she was only finished once in the UFC.
In 2020, Jessica sigend with Xtreme Fighting Championship.
Her nickname "Jag" obviously comes from her first initial of her first name and the first two letters of her last name, used as a shortform for autographs.
Outside of mixed martial arts, Jessica currently manages franchise development for the Boca Tanning Club chain in Florida. She is openly lesbian and is dating actress Shalita Grant as of 2022.
