/

Maria "Spider Girl" Oliveira (born Decemner 9, 1996) got her nickname when she fought for the RIZIN Fighting Federation in 2017. Japanese promoter thought she posseses "physical and stylistic similarities to the great Anderson Silva."
Maria started training combat sports at 12 years old in a school program, "I would go train as a way of skipping classes."
At age 18, Maria made her pro MMA debut. She struggled in the beginning, dropping two out of three fights but won next eight fights, including Angel & Fight atomweight title.
In 2017, Maria defeated Alyssa Garcia in RIZIN World Grand Prix tournament opening round. She lost to Kanna Asakura in the semi-final yet her impressive performance led her to a fight in DWCS Brazil 2.
Maria couldn't capitalize on this opportunity but won next three fights, and finally, in 2021, she signed with the UFC.
