RILLEY "THE PERFECT STORM" DUTRO
/
Rilley Dutro (born September 3, 1987), got into martial arts when he was a child, "Bruce Lee to Ninja to everything."
This didn't stop in the elementary school. When he was in the 3rd grade, Rilley's combat sports career began in freestyle wrestling. He competed in wrestling till end of sophmore year in high school.
In wrestling matches he had wins and losses.
But Rilley felt he mostly lost to physicall bigger athletes and it would've been different if he can punch or elbow in those fight.
Therefore, after grduating from high school in 2005, Rilley continued training in friend's garage.
Then, Rilley began going to small BJJ gym, followed by boxing gym, went through couple smoker fights and made his pro MMA debut in 2009.
In the beginning, it was not easy for Rilly to get a fight at his natrual weight class - flyweight division. So, he was forced to fight at upper weight class to gain experience.
This changed when Rilley signed with PXC (Pacific X-treme Combat). He stormed through competition and became promotion's flyweight champion.
However, a Guam-based promotion folded in 2017, and Rilley signed with Shooto.
At the oldest running MMA promotion in Japan, Rilley defeated one of Japan's top flyweight prospects, Takumi Tamaru, and a DREAM/ VTJ/ WSOF Global veteran Yusaku Nakamura.
These two wins got Rilley an opportunity in Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series in 2018.
In 2022 Rilley signed with Bellator MMA and scheduled to make a promotional debut in April.
