Yakov Ekimov (born July 22, 1987) is a professional mixed martial artist fighting out of Krasnodar, Russia.

Yakov started to training in Sambo at age 6. When he was 20 years old, Yakov became Russian Combat Sambo champion.

The injury sustained at age 24 sidelined him for couple years, however, after turning 26, Yakov came back to training, this time, in Muay Thai.

Soon after, Yakov began participating in the amateur MMA and Pankration competitions, and  eventually won Russian Pankration Championship.

Yakov made his professional MMA debut at age 29, faced a very tough and experienced 5-fight veteran Edgar Okhtov yet won via unanimous decision.

Yakov won next four fights, and signed with MMA Series in 2019.

He is now 7-0 with the promotion, where he became the first fighters in the history of MMA Series to win seven fights, and received Gold Belt.
